Diary: Hip & Happening Berlin

Berlijn

So, I haven't been blogging much, so what was I doing? I was in Berlin baby! Hip & Happening Berlin.
Every year the man and I take a little trip in the second week in March to cellebrate our anniversay. Well technically our anniversary is tomorrow: 9 years together! Can't imagine life without him; can't even remember my life before Matt. Well enough on the sloppy details. Berlin!
I love this city. I did have to get used to it; it is so cold, icey snow everywhere, and most of the buildings are just concrete boxes. But the fashion, creative vibe, streetstyle, artwork are Hip & Happening.

So what are you looking at?
- The bearth taking Hollocast memorial; it's flabbergasting
- From where I stand; both wearing Adidas kicks
- The Branderbuger Tor; another breath taking site, it's so big!
- Street art at RAW (make sure you check out RAW in , guessing it'll be a vibrante creative mess in summer)

Berlijn1

- Nike Town purchases! Yeah, Nike Town is HUGE! I had a field day! All the limited edition tights, tops and shorts (that are not available, or sold out in 10 minutes in the Netherlands) were on sale! Yeah ON SALE! I tried on half the store. I'll show you what I bought later on this week.
- Chai Latte; yep I drank a lot of them, multiple a day! This is the first city where you can get a Chai Latte in every cafe or snackplace. I'm loving it!
- I have always been a big big fan of Andy Warhol; so on my last day in Berlin I visited the Hamburger Bahnhof museum . I love contemporary art, so this is the museum for me. I saw a great installation of Martin Honert, which is on display till the 7th of April. If you have the chance go and see it, it's worth it. Above all this massive painting of Mao by Warhol is a must see! It is as big as my house! (and my house is quite big..)
- On my way home.... waiting, waiting, waiting, to finally board the plane.

Some tips:
- All the shops (even MacDonalds!) are closed on a Sunday; I'm not kiddin'. Make sure you plan you shopping spree on another day. The shops in the main shopping area are open till 20h every night (except Sunday that is)
- Berlin is colder then the Netherlands; don't forget that! Beanie's, gloves, snowboots, ski jackets, even ski pants, it's all on the streets. Indoors it's very warm, every shop or bar has the heating on HIGH! So layer up.
- Berlin is BIG! Make sure you get a metro-card to get to all the good places! The Ku'dam is nice, but don't spend more then 2h there, there are much better places to spend your time and money (e.g. friedrichshain)
- Berlin is quite cheap for a European Capital.
- My geuss is that Berlin will be even more vibrant in Summer. So I'm planning to go back there when the temperatures are up :)

Well these are my tips on Berlin for now. Expect to see my shoplog on what I got at Nike town very soon.

Outfit: Belated Snow Storm

IMG_9943 IMG_9942 IMG_9955 IMG_9947

Typical: it's the first day of real sun and +15 degrees in the Netherlands, and I have a snow-storm outfit to show you! I have been so busy that I didn't have the time to post these; so I'm doing this now before work.
These pics where shot over a week ago, when the snow came back. I wore this freezing outfit. Safe to say that I didn't leave the house after these pics where shot!
By the way I got this dress in London, when I was shopping there last Christmas. What a steal for 7 pounds! The skull has some much detailing! Can't believe it took me 3 months to finally wear it!

Hope you have a chance to enjoy the sunny weather today!

I'm wearing:
Skull dip-end dress: Primark | Cardigan: Ichi | Leather Jacket: Trish Summerville Dragon tattoo for H&M | Boots: Zara | Beanie: H&M men | Half Gloves: H&M

Outfit: Always be Batman!

IMG_9975 IMG_9970 IMG_9973 IMG_9969 IMG_9964
Pictureoverload! Since I got so many comments and questions regarding the batman sweat I just needed to post this whole outfit now. (Eventhough I will be late for work now...)
Anyhow: the batman sweat, combined in a Amy-way. I'm wearing this urban-ish style quite alot these days; well on the weekends that is. I love big sweaters, my adidas kicks (they are so warm!) and a leather legging to create some edge to it. These leggings got ripped over Christmas (as some of you saw on my instagram account @amysfashionscrapbook) but I choose not to throw them away. They are old, but so comfy, and the hole makes it a litt;le more interesting if you ask me. (That I'm living on a budget has nothing to do with it ;))
So what are your thougths on the new sweat?
Ps: On a personal note: I just got my tickets for my 3rd festival for this summer! Seriously can't wait! Bring on festival season! Do you have some Summer plans already lined up?

I'm wearing:

Batman Sweat: Asos | Leather Jacket: Trish Summervill Dragon Tattoo collection for H&M | Grey top: Primark | Faux Leather leggings: H&M | Kicks: Adidas | Scarf: The Grey concept for H&M Divided | Beanie: H&M men

My last outfit with my long hair; sounds like I have done something drastic? haha Well, it's not that drastic... but a little shorter. More on that later. I was wearing my new shoes! Love them! I also dug up my leopard blouse! Since this print is hanging in every store at the moment. I got this blouse years ago in Antwerp at the H&M for like 10 euros. Good investment ;).

I'm wearing:
Boyfriend Coat: Mango | Leopard Blouse: H&M (old) | Black Jeans: Zara | Studded Boots: Sacha | Beanie: H&M (men's)

Outfit: Layers in the Snow

All the snow has gone in the Netherlands, it took just a day for all the thick layers of ice that had been tormenting us for the last two weeks, to dissovle. These pictures were taken on Saturday, during the last snow fall. It was so cold that I choose to wear two jackets that day! And Thank God that I did. I'm not made for ice-cold-winters. I'm guessing it's my New Zealand genes.
Well of to work now: biking in the pouring rain... off course!

I'm wearing:
Coat: Mango | Leather Jacket: Trish Summerville for H&M (Dragon Tattoo collection) | Sweater: Mango | Long top: Bershka | Jeans: H&M | Bikerboots: Zara | Beanie: H&M (Mens)

Sale shopping didn't go aswell as I hoped! I did get some nice items, (okay I got a Wang... but besides the Wang, I didn't get that much. And usually I don't allow myself to buy from the new collections before the sale is over.... but even that little rule went wrong. Except for this printed top. I saw a few weeks ago at Pull & Bear, but the man hates it. So I didn't get it. Last week it was marked down, and the had just one left in my size. That was fate. Can't wait to wear it this summer at one of the festivals. For now I just combine it with a beanie and a big knit.

Did you get something good on sale?

I'm wearing:
Printed top: Pull & Bear | Big knit: Pulll & Bear | Jeans: H&M | Bikerboots: Zara | Beanie: Zara | Scarf: the grey concept by H&M Divided

Outfit: Knitted Zebra

An outfit I wore this week! Yeah, I know I said I couldn't take outfit pics during the week; thank god I found a way to do it at least this one time! Since it's nearly christmas holiday's (and I'll have my first week off in nearly a year!) I'm working long hours at the office to get everything donw in time. So on the days that I'm not meeting with clients or management, I tend to wear  realxed outfits! This is one of them. (By the way: you should see me today, all dressed up, heels, mini skirt, because I have to attend an event of a product that I have worked on... my co-workers will think I'm fashion schizofrenic or something)
Back to the outfit: wearing my mango sweater, it's so warm! Good for these cold December days! And my re-discoverd parka, which I got on sale last year. I found it at the back of my closet when I was packing for London, haven't taken it off since! It has a sheep skin layer in it, so warm and comfortable!

Well I'm off to work! Happy Friday!

I'm wearing:
Zebra Knit: Mango Kate Moss collection | Parka: Zara TRF | Jeans: Zara | Bikerboots: Zara | Beanie: Zara | Scarf: the grey concept by H&M divided

Outfit: 50 Shades of Autumn

It's freezing cold alright! Last weekend my man and I went for a walk in our new neighbourhood, and I had to try-out the nearby playground (Yeah...., I think I should have kids soon, since a 28 year old without a kid is kind of weird in a playground...) as you can see in the pictures. Wearing an easy outfit again; starring 50 shades of grey; literally (and not refering to some book ;)). Thanks for the sun to provide us with a little warmth. Too bad the sun has made way for the rain. Hoping on some nice days to come.

By the way: I'm kind of bummed with the winter time; it is now completely impossible for me to shoot outfits during the week, since I work fulltime. To top things off, the weather forcasts are rain, rain and more rain for the following two weekends. Well, Ill have to be creative in the mean time. All suggestions are welcome though!

I'm wearing:
Sweat: Zoe Karssen | Grey shirt: Berhska | Legging: H&M | Sneakers: Converse All Star | Beanie: H&M | Scarf: New Look | Necklace: fashionology

Outfit: Leather & Chains

Wow it's so cold right now! I was freezing during the shoot of this outfit.
I tried to shoot these pics after work when it was dark.
That didn't work out, so I choose to re-shoot this outfit.
Can't wait for spring though, not only for the weather, but it makes a bloggers life a little easier!
Back to the outfit: first post with my Dragon Tattoo leather jacket. I love the details on the jacket.
I combined it with my new sweater, which I ordered in the zara sale for just 6,95. Talk about a bargain!
It's not that clear on the photo's but it has a silver sparkle in it.
Makes the sweater more interesting in my opinion.

What I was wearing:
Leather Jacket: Dragon Tattoo by Trish Summerville for H&M | Silver Grey Sweater: Zara |
White Top: H&M | Coated jeans: H&M | Chained Boots: Stylist's Own | Skull Necklace: Fashionology | Beanie: Zara |

Inspiration: The Snow is falling

OMG it is snowing!
And to be honest, I only enjoy the first sight of the snow falling, after that I really hate it!
Because the snow is only fun when it's falling; afterwards it becomes this ice layer to the roads, which means that I can't wear heels or nice shoes for weeks, I have the risk of falling on my butt with every step I take, and the worst of all: that I have to get up 1 hour earlier to get to work on time.
So to get out of my bad mood I Googled some pictures about the beauty of the winter and the snow, which I wanted to share with you guys. Hoping that I'm not the only one feeling better by seeing these pics.
