Diary: Best Kept Secret Festival 2013

First festival of  my Summer Festival Marathon. I had a blast!
Best Kept Secret festival is very different to all the other festivals, it has less main stream bands, is cozy and intimate, serves good food (like seriously quality food! Which does mean that you need to budget a little more than you usually would) clean toilets (with toilet paper!!), a very clean festival ground, due to deposits on the beercups and staff that was cleaning the fields all day. The location was so idyllic, on the beach at a big lake, surrounded by woods. In the woods was a little Etsy market, and lots of swings and benches made out of wood, tree trunks and branches. The music was diverse en very good! This Indy festival had some great headliners: Damien Rice, Sigur Ros, Artic Monkeys to name a few. Also some hip hop acts and dj's where present. Also the stages (the festival had 3 stages and 1 dj booth area)  were all very different, which meant that the stages and tents suited the performing bands perfectly. Big rock bands on the main stage (Stage one) and acts like little sweet Anges Obel were in the tent, whereas more electronic music was at stage 3, which had a futuristic vibe to it. Some acts could have been programmed differently, and the stage in the tent (Stage two) should have been mad a few meters higher, or should have had videowalls.
But other then that this festival was great, specially for a first time! The music festival market in Europe is quite large, but I think Best Kept Secret is a valuable addition to summer festival calender. And I'm not just saying this because I live just a 20 minute bike-ride away.
Well: on with the marathon!! Next stop: Festival Mundial!

Diary: If I May

Wow another month has flown by! Time to show you what I have been upto! First of: I started writing for Tilburg.com. / Next I got my beloved Ombre hair back! So happy with a little more colour in my life. / I sprained my ankle at the end of April, but still needed to run in may. So tape would help me. This way I could run without doing any further damage / and yes! The man and I made it! 13 KM! 

In the second week I finally recieved the newspaper my streetstyle photo was published in! / Prepping for the shoot with fotografille / shooting! / Mother's day!

Waiting for the last names to be announced for Best Kept Secret festival, going there in 3 weeks! can't wait! / Selfie before going to the Vice festivalguide launch party! / Vice festival guide launch party, was great! / Drinks & games with friends

Relaxing, but still with a blanky, due to shitty weather! / Photo's of the shoot got published! / Smoothie time, strawberry it is! / Getting back on track after my injury, baby steps. 

New kicks!!!! / Getting my new shoe closet at Ikea! And the man was laughing and filming me with this big heavy box... / my new shoe closet in full swing! (still too small, but it's a start!) / Smoothie aka milkshake time! Very into rolled oats and cinnamon at the moment. 

Well this sums up my month! Today I'm going to some redecorating in my house with my dad... hoping project "new house" will be finished before we live here for a year ;)

Diary: Having Fun in April

Time flies when your having fun! Well that sure was the case in April. I know, April is still full on (and I'll be posting heaps of pictures on instagram, so you'll know what I'm upto.) Back to the last few weeks. Wow what a months! I went to my first blogger event, hosted by a CreamPR, it was my birthday, we had sun, and I was running alot. 

The USB card we got at CreamPR / Another run done! / I got this fashionology ring from the sweet Cindy from COTTDS. / The men and I went to a concert at 013.

More working-out: Spinning / I worked in our garden. It still looks kinds winter in this pic / The sun has returned / Some new decorations for our house

More running! Finally lapped the 13 km for the first time, in this 3rd week of April. / New pillow, looks like cute little Zipp, the dog of my in-laws. / Mini me! Running around in New Zealand / It was my 29th B-day! 

The last week of April I started with a run / On Tuesday the man and I went for a long walk after dinner, love spring in the city! / Look at this sky! We were enjoying our dinner on our rooftop terrace! / Oops, new Nike Running shoes for the man and me!

Diary: All About March

That I'm no good with structure is a fact, this month I didn't post my diary posts every two weeks, like I was supposed to. So on now I'll give you a massive diary post on the whole month. Except for Berlin, because you've already seen that here!

Well the first week of March:
- It started great: shopping at the Primark! With my partner in crime Lieke!
- No I didn't turn 2 years old, I did however celebrate my 2 years at Reversz (the company where I work...) this month. Got this card from my co-worker, sweet!
- Yep, on the only day with great weather I ran; I did good!
- I did some baking! Yummy!



In the second week of March
- I went to the HEMA musical (Hema is a typical Dutch shop). It was so funny, since I used to work there for 6 years when I was still studying. The time frame of the musical was set in the time when I used to work there, so that was extra cool.
- It snowed even more this month... I'm getting depressed about this cold!
- I traveled to Berlin, more about that here!
- I received these great bracelets from SOYL, more about this on the blog soon!



In the third week:
- the man & I celebrated our 9th anniversary together. We went to movies.
- I made quiche for dinner, yummy!

This last week of March
- I was kinda under the weather, so when I finally had some energy I went to the city and got these cute rings.
- Easter brunch part 1!
- Easter brunch part 2; yeah my mum still makes me go egg hunting (I'm turning 29 this month.... seriously)
- Running! I went on run, but I wasn't better yet, so it kinda sucked. Well I lapped everybody who stayed on the couch... that is a fact. And I'm doing a challenge in April, from Girlslove2run, but more about that later.

Well this was the great March Diary post. Hope April will give us better weather, so I can run more often, won't get sick. And of course my B-day is coming up; so bring on April!

Diary: Hip & Happening Berlin

So, I haven't been blogging much, so what was I doing? I was in Berlin baby! Hip & Happening Berlin.
Every year the man and I take a little trip in the second week in March to cellebrate our anniversay. Well technically our anniversary is tomorrow: 9 years together! Can't imagine life without him; can't even remember my life before Matt. Well enough on the sloppy details. Berlin!
I love this city. I did have to get used to it; it is so cold, icey snow everywhere, and most of the buildings are just concrete boxes. But the fashion, creative vibe, streetstyle, artwork are Hip & Happening.

So what are you looking at?
- The bearth taking Hollocast memorial; it's flabbergasting
- From where I stand; both wearing Adidas kicks
- The Branderbuger Tor; another breath taking site, it's so big!
- Street art at RAW (make sure you check out RAW in , guessing it'll be a vibrante creative mess in summer)



- Nike Town purchases! Yeah, Nike Town is HUGE! I had a field day! All the limited edition tights, tops and shorts (that are not available, or sold out in 10 minutes in the Netherlands) were on sale! Yeah ON SALE! I tried on half the store. I'll show you what I bought later on this week.
- Chai Latte; yep I drank a lot of them, multiple a day! This is the first city where you can get a Chai Latte in every cafe or snackplace. I'm loving it!
- I have always been a big big fan of Andy Warhol; so on my last day in Berlin I visited the Hamburger Bahnhof museum . I love contemporary art, so this is the museum for me. I saw a great installation of Martin Honert, which is on display till the 7th of April. If you have the chance go and see it, it's worth it. Above all this massive painting of Mao by Warhol is a must see! It is as big as my house! (and my house is quite big..)
- On my way home.... waiting, waiting, waiting, to finally board the plane.

Some tips:
- All the shops (even MacDonalds!) are closed on a Sunday; I'm not kiddin'. Make sure you plan you shopping spree on another day. The shops in the main shopping area are open till 20h every night (except Sunday that is)
- Berlin is colder then the Netherlands; don't forget that! Beanie's, gloves, snowboots, ski jackets, even ski pants, it's all on the streets. Indoors it's very warm, every shop or bar has the heating on HIGH! So layer up.
- Berlin is BIG! Make sure you get a metro-card to get to all the good places! The Ku'dam is nice, but don't spend more then 2h there, there are much better places to spend your time and money (e.g. friedrichshain)
- Berlin is quite cheap for a European Capital.
- My geuss is that Berlin will be even more vibrant in Summer. So I'm planning to go back there when the temperatures are up :)

Diary: Busy Times

February flew by! I have been so busy at work, and my weekends are jam-packed. That last thing is a good thing though. But because of that I spend today sleeping and watching re-runs of my favorite police series (yup, I'm a geek...) But that was today. What have I been uptoo the last two weeks?
- I have been making new plans for the blog and a little business, more on that later. This little notebook is now my partner in crime.
- Asos got brougth me something new! (Which you can see here!)
- New baking stuff from the Ikea. I went there to get new stuff for the house; in which we finally succeeded!
- My new bracelet from Brandy & Melville (You should check that store out!)



My second week; it was even more busy.
- Drinking rice-milk. If you follow me on instagram you'll know that I try to eat nerdly healthy; so this a next step in that. (by the way: I still drink a lot of beer on the weekends)
- Moving day! This week my work moved to a new office. It's so weird to leave the place where I have spend 40+ hours a week for the last 2 years.
- The day after moving day, I had a whole day of process en project stuff with the big projectteam of all the companies involved. I love those kinds of days; this is my kind of thing.
- After this busy busy week, in which I worked too many hours, I thougth I deserved this jacket. So on my way home, just before the shop closed, I ran in and grabbed it. One happy girl! (esspecially when you see the price, it's friking cashmere!!)

Well I didn't have that many pics to choose from; all because of my busy lifestyle. But hye: there is just too many cool things to do in life :).
Speaking of that, I'm gonna get ready for  nice party. And tomorrow I'm off to Amsterdam.

Diary: The first of February

A little overdue, I planned this post half way of february; but time has caught-up with me a little too fast! Well, what have I been up to?
- First up Running! I have been enjoying my Nike Element Shield (seriously, the best tight one can get in the winter)
- This cute Happy Phantom toy by Discodip was the perfect present for a little newborn girl!
- Pancakes! Need I say more?
- Insta my man made of me while we we're enjoying this new unknown folk band in a local pub. Love it! (Since it was a "work-night" I choose to drink coke, that surprised everyone... ;))



- In the second week of february I went for more runs! Really getting the hang of it, and it is going better every time. Meet my new shining run jacket from H&M. Seriously; since it is totally made of reflecting material, I look like a little light bulb running around my home-town, underneath the street lights. Not so sure what I think of that fact by the way.....
- Meatballs! Best food in Amsterdam! Seriously; you should check it out when you have the chance. Tip: The garlic chicken meatball, is really garlic first and chicken second...
- Say hello to my new boyfriend... ;)
- Valentine's day... <3

Diary: The end of January

January flew by, literary. Here my second instadiay of 2013. So what have I been up to the last few weeks? If I look in my iphone, it's alot to do with food! Turning in a real foody here! Maybe it's because I finally have kitchen were I can cook and bake, and also: now that I live in the citycenter of Tilburg I go out for food  quite often (which is not so good for my bankaccount and my figure tho).

What are you looking at?
- My new Friday socks! Which wish me a Foxy Friday! / Great lunch with my co-workers in town
- Baked some cupcakes for my mums B-day / My cozy sittingroom



- I'm training for the 13 km in may (here), have a loooong way to go / Breakfast smoothie,do this every morning now! Go me! :)

Diary: Small recap of my week

Since I'm so busy with work, renovating our new house I have very little to no time to update my blog. So I thought it would be nice to give you an insight my oh-so-glamourous (I'm being sarcastic...) week. So here follows a small diary:

 

Remember I was craving feather extensions? This week I received my feather extensions; Love them!

Yeah, we are still working in the new house. Last Saturday I chopped all the titels out of kitchen by hand. Seriously, that day I learned that I'm just not made to do manual labor. (ps: and don't you think my earplugs and saftey glasses are fashionable? haha)

After working the whole week at the office, in the new house at night and in the weekend. We really deserved some relaxing time! So the BF and I went to spend and hour or two at a lake, late Sunday afternoon. Sipping some beers, eating some snacks and getting a much needed tan.

It can't be all work and no play, so when I saw the invitation of Girlslove2run to join them for a run in the Vondelpark in Amsterdam, I was like: Why not? (Yeah I had to travel for like 2,5 hours one-way, and had to work every night of this week to compensate) but I just love to do crazy things. So I grabbed my blogger buddy Lieke and accepted the challenge! We took much more pics so expect a bigger post about our running mission soon on my blog!

This was a small recap of my week!

Personal: Pinkpop Recap

A little recap to show you guys the fabulous time I had at Pinkpop last weekend!
I had such a great time, seeing the awesome performers, chilling the grass, drinking beer and to top that all of: seeing The Boss! No, I'm not a hardcore Springsteen fan, but since I have been brought with the music I kinda like Bruce. And come on, when I get old, I hope my husband will look and move so good as he does!
Anyhow: I had a great time! I loved the performance of The Blood Red Shoes, they are definitely my Pinkpop 2012 find! Well festival season has really begun, and now we wait for Rock Werchter....  
I'm loving it! :)
Oh, by the way: Yesterday I had my semi-annual appointment with my hairdresser. Check my facebook page to see the result! :)
