New in: I'm too busy - read my blog

I'm too busy - read my blog! Daar komt het kort gezegd wel op neer, alleen ben ik ook te druk om dit blog bij te houden. Dit shirt kreeg ik van mijn vriend als 'motivator' om het bloggen weer op te pakken. Superlief! Natuurlijk heeft ie' het shirt niet zelf gevonden (mijn vriend loopt niet standaard de vrouwenafdeling van de CoolCat af, althans dat vermoed ik) dus ik vind het superlief dat een vriendin van hem aan mij dacht toen ze het shirt zag. Thanks!
Dit shirt omvat twee liefdes van mij: allereerst het bloggen. Heerlijk. Nooit verwacht dat ik dat zou leuk zou vinden. Ook het lezen van blogs vind ik een heerlijke tijdbesteding. Op het moment ben ik helemaal weg van lifestyle blogs, en dan met name de artikelen over interieur en reizen.
Mijn andere liefde is quotes! Ik kan dagen spenderen aan het pinnen van quotes op pinterest. Wat heerlijk! Op het moment dat ik dit schrijf heb ik 1376 quotes op mijn "say it with..." board (zie het hier!) En ja, zoals je op de foto's ziet: ook in mijn huis komen quotes voor.



Helaas heb ik op het moment niet zoveel tijd voor het bloggen en het pinnen, omdat ik voor mijn werk een cursus Nederlands moet doen, die stiekem meer tijd kost dat ik aanvankelijk gedacht had.
In de tussentijd draag ik dus mijn nieuwe shirt zodat iedereen weet dat ze mijn blog moeten lezen, om te zien waar ik het zo druk mee heb. ;)

2013 Recap

Echo! Het is enorm stil geweest op mijn blog, maar op de laatste dag van het jaar kon ik niet anders dan ook terugblikken op mijn (blog-)jaar, net als in 2012! En wat een jaar is het geweest. 2013 je was enorm leerzaam, en je had fantastische hoogtepunten, maar ik hoef je niet zo nodig overnieuw te doen. Vindt je dat okay?

Het klinkt enorm superficial maar HALLO! Ik kocht mijn allereerste ECHTE designer tas in 2013, in januari nog wel! Ik ben de trotse bezitter van deze Wang bag!



Ook had ik een superleuke fotoshoot met blog vriendinnetje Evelien van fotografille,
Evelien inspireert me altijd om hard(-er) te werken aan mijn blog. Dat doen we terwijl we Chai Lattes drinken bij mijn (of is het inmiddels al 'onze'?) favoriete coffeeplace in onze woonplaats Tilburg. Ik hoop in 2014 nog veel blog/koffiedates met deze inspirerende dame te mogen hebben.

In 2013 werd ik voor het eerst op straat aangesproken door een streetstyle fotograaf, die foto werd nog gepubliceerd ook! Complete blijheid natuurlijk, als meisje uit de provincie dat onderweg was naar een pers event bij een PR-bureau in Amsterdam.

  

Het jaar vervolgde met vele mooie aankoopjes, de ene nog mooier dan de andere. Het laatste half jaar zijn daar nog vele mooie dingen bijgekomen, maar helaas hebben die foto's nooit op mijn blog gestaan en is mijn laptop at the moment gecrashed..... dus ik kan jullie niets laten zien.



Festivals, oh God wat waren ze fantastisch! Ik heb ervan genoten, werkelijk tot the max! Alsof mijn leven wist dat ik een pittig half jaar tegemoet zou gaan, nog een lekkere zomer feesten tot de zon op kwam, en toen ging ik nog door! Beste Kept Secret, Rock Werchter en Bospop; Jullie waren fastastich. En in 2014? Doen we het dunnetjes over!



Feestjes, etentjes en vakanties, ze waren de hoogtepunten van 2013. Berlijn, Ibiza en New York.... ik heb ze dit jaar allemaal mogen toevoegen aan mijn al niet zo bescheiden reis-lijstje. Het was fantastisch.... maar juist, die foto's van Ibiza en New York staan op die gecrashte laptop..... Als er een IT'er is die me wil helpen; mail me!


Ook was 2013 een sportief jaar... ik heb gewoon voor het eerst 13 km hardgelopen! Beetje trots ben ik wel ja. Helemaal omdat ik die 13km MET enkelblessure en lelijke tape gelopen heb. Waar een wil is, is een weg, hoe hard en zwaar die weg ook is.

Blog 2014

Dit jaar geen standaard outfit overzicht, waarom? omdat ik maanden geen outfit foto's heb gemaakt. En ik dat stiekem wel fijn vind. Het zoeken naar een fotograaf, locatie en nog belangrijker: daglicht! Is echt een lastige klus. Neemt niet weg dat ik erg blij ben met alle outfit foto's die ik wel heb hoor; en ik verwacht in 2014 echt weer outfit foto's te maken. 

Liever wil ik mijn blog meer focussen op mijn personal lifestyle en alles wat daarmee te maken heeft en niet enkel of fashion. Voor mijn gevoel sluit dat meer aan bij mijn persoonlijke leefwereld, iets wat wel een vereiste is bij een persoonlijke blog. Dus verwacht meer interieur, food, work-out, beauty, hot spots, travel en concert posts. 

Wat ook nieuw is: ik ga bloggen in het Nederlands. Ik ben tweetalig opgevoed; ben net zo slecht in de Engelse taal als in de Nederlandse taal. Ik lees liever Nederlandse blogs omdat het toch meer aansluit bij mijn dagelijkse leefwereld en realiteit. Niets zo vervelend als een eindelijk een blogartikel vinden over een goede matte topcoat, om er vervolgens achter te komen dat die in Nederland niet verkrijgbaar is! Dus Dutch it is! Uiteraard ga ik regelen er een vertaalknop op de blog komt; deze en andere technische aspecten ga ik de komende weken/maanden aanpakken.

Thanks aan mijn lezers, mijn volgers (150 op facebook!) mijn lieve vriendje die fotografeerd en mij motiveert om weer mijn blog op te pakken. Mijn lieve vrienden die vaak of gefotografeerd worden (op hier op le blog of instragram @amysfashionscrapbook) of mijn blog verhalen moeten aanhoren. De mensen die ik zowel IRL of enkel digitaal heb leren kennen via mijn blog, jullie zijn fantastisch. Het is een super community of deel van te mogen zijn.

Lieve mensen, ik wens jullie het beste voor 2014! Maak er een super jaar van, reis, feest, heb lief, realiseer je dromen maar bovenal LEEF!

Wishlist: Chanel Espadrilles

EN// Maybe it's because my summerholiday is starting in 8 hours, or maybe it's because I just hadn't come across these black beauties before... nevertheless: I'm in love!
In spring the Chanel espadrilles where everywhere, but since I really didn't like the denim canvas, I clicked them away in an instant. Knowing that if would ever own a pair of Chanel shoes, these might be the closest I would get, since the price tag is much more friendly compared to heels etc.
Anyhow: no denim canvas for me. So that was that.... untill I saw these beauties online.... even with autumn right at my door I want them... I love them, I need them... (okay, the last comment is not true...)

NL// Misschien komt het omdat mijn zomervakantie nog moet beginnen (nog 8 uur te gaan, whooohoo) maar ik ben verliefd op deze zwarte espadrilles van Chanel! Ook met de herfst voor de deur zou ik graag deze beauties toevoegen aan mijn collectie.

Food: Easy BBQ Party

EN//I think its nearly 6 weeks ago when I shot these photos at a simple BBQ party at my house; forgot all about them. Since we had some great other BBQ's in the time that passed. Well, with these pics I just want to show you have you can throw a simple in-expensive BBQ.
So what are your plans for the weekend, now temperatures are rising?

NL// Volgens mij was het 6 weken geleden toen ik deze foto's nam tijdens een simpele BBQ bij mij thuis. Ik ben helemaal vergeten deze te posten; maar met dit warme weer vandaag is het wel weer toepasselijk. Deze pics laten zien hoe je een super goedkope en makkelijker BBQ kunt houden.

Outfit: Summer Simple

EN// Finally a new outfit online! I've had a little trouble having a photographer present on the days I had a good outfit... and with the hot hot weather, I really wasn't bothered wearing anything remotely worth shooting. Well enough with the excuses, here is a new super simple outfit that I was wearing today. Scored these jeans in the finale sale at Zara. I wasn't planning on buying another pair of printed jeans (I think I own like 20 pairs allready... not kiddin!) but they fit me perfectly. And they are high wasted, a feature of which I didn't own yet. I have always been hesitant to wearing high wasted jeans, since I thought it wouldn't fit perfectly since I have hips and all.... but it's not! It's like my first pair of jeans that don't crawl down whenever you try to bend over. I'm a fan! Well since I hurt my ankle again... (accident prone??) I have to wear comfy shoes, so my fake vans are perfect! Combined it all with a new linnen tee from zara. Another thing I own in large quantities: back tee's! I think a basic tee is one of the worlds best inventions!

NL// Eindelijk een nieuwe outfit post! Ik heb de afgelopen dagen niet altijd een fotograaf gehad wanneer ik eindelijk een leuke outfit aanhad; want met dat warme weer heb ik niet de moeite genomen om mezelf foto-waardig te kleden. Okay, genoeg gezeurd! Hier de simpele outfit die ik vandaag aanhad. Deze jeans heb ik de final sale van de zara gescoord! Ik was eigenlijk niet van plan om nog een geprinte jeans te kopen, daar ik volgens mij al 20 bedrukte jeans/broeken heb. Maar hij zit gewoon perfect en ik heb nog geen high-wasted jeans in mijn collectie. het even geduurd voor ik een high-wasted jeans wilde proberen daar ik gewoonweg heupen heb en ik altijd dacht dat dat niet samen ging met die hoge taille. Maar dat is helemaal niet zo... het is zelfs ontzetten prettig! Nu hoef ik helemaal geen rekening te houden wanneer ik buk ofzo: broek blijft prima zitten! Daar ik alweer geblesseerd ben (alweer ja....) zijn mijn zeer comfortabele nep-vans de ideale schoenen. Heerlijk gecombineerd met een simpele linnen tee en mijn outfit is af. Nog zoiets waar ik zeer veel exemplaren van heb: basic t-shirts! Ik ben echt van mening dat een basic tee een van s'werelds beste uitvindingen is!

I'm really turning this blog in a lifestyle blog... but I can't imagine stopping with outfit posts, I just enjoy that too much. Although it's a big hassle when you work full time and you always need daylight and a photographer. 

What else happend this year?

- I ran my first 13k run!

The Work-out: Almost D-day! & Blog Poll

Not so charming huh? Well this was me last year at Rondje Tilburg. Sunday is the next edition, where I'm gonna take 13K on. For the people who follow me on instagram (@amysfashionscrapbook) may have seen my injury. Yes I kind f*cked up my ankle. So yesterday eve I went to this Fysio-guy, and Saturday morning we are going to test my ankle, see if running is going to be a good idea. I'll keep you posted.
On a different note I have started a new blogging adventure! From now on I also blog for Tilburg.com, it's in Dutch, so if any Dutchies are interested, get you ass over HERE and read my first blog.

On a last note: I'm experiencing a little struggle with my blog. I want to blog about my whole life, so fashion, working-out, travels and good food. Are you keen for that? Of would you rather see me sticking to fashion and starting up a new blog for working-out? Leave your opinion in the poll I have created!

Happy 2013

My favorite picture of me of the last year. It was taken at the penthouse in Belgium we stayed in to cellebrate my fathers 65th birthday. I'm hoping that 2013 can be like this picture: happy, warm and sunny. 

I entered 2012 with just one goal: to buy a house, Well that all worked out quite well. While I'm typing this, I'm sitting on my new big-ass couch, in my new livingroom. I'm not one for new years resolutions, but I love to have goals which I can work towards. 

So here goes: 

I would like to:

• Run 2 competitions
• Relax more / Take more time off work
• Invest more time, energy and love in my blog
• See my friends more often
• Travel more then in 2012 (or just as much as in 2011)
• Finish the big to-do-list of our house (and have a big big housewarming party!)
• Buy a Wang handbag
• Wear more Nailpolish
• Buy a pair of leather pants

I would like to maintain: 

• My healthy eating (which is not always healthy, but balanced)
• My work-outs at the gym (which I'm actually currently slaking....by the way)
• The amount of quality time spend with my man
• The amount of music festivals I have visited in 2012 (which was 4)
• Being Happy

I think it's also important to think about the things that are going well in your life. Things that you would like to maintain. Don't forget: you'll never know what you got till it's gone.
As you can see, I have a few very mainstream goals and some more specific (Buy a Wang!). In the end I'm just hoping that 2013 can be such a blast as 2012! If I reach all these goals or not. And no: I'm not known to be a quiter. So don't worry about my attitude. For instance: buying a Wang is super great, but if I didnt happen, well then I'll just have to see what 2014 will bring. :)

I'm off to work on one of my goals: Relax more!

The Best of 2012

The last day of 2012! This year has flown by. And what a year it was for me!

New Zealand
I was travelling around my other (yeah, I have two nationalities) country: New Zealand at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012. We had such a great time! Roadtrippin'with my favorite ally. In that time I couldn't update the blog (okay, I choose not to) so this photo overview starts when I just returned: Tanned, blonde and carefree.

We Bought a Zoo...
No we didn't buy a Zoo, but we did buy a house! In July all the paperwork was in order, and we could start the big big renovation. While I'm typing this, we are still in the middle of making our house a home. Most of my vacation the past week, was spend buying a heater, hanging up lamps etc. This will be a goal for 2013: finish the house :)

The blog
Because of these two milestones in my life last year, I wasn't such a good blogger from time to time. So I'm so greatfull that you guys are still following me. Thanks for the support!
The only positive side is that I didn't have so many outfit to choose from for my overview. But it still was a hard choice! I was going to say that I had to wear more heels and skirts. But when I see this overview I think  I did pretty well. Heaps of skirts, and enough heels. (I mean I'm still a sneakers girl in my heart).

Personal: Festival Love

Lovely readers! I have been to the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium which was great! Seen some great bands, have a chill time relaxing and dancing with my friends. Outfit: Supporting in Neon

My outfit from last Sunday! Because it was the day of the last match of the Dutchies at the European Championships, and yes: we lost! So my neon orange pants didn't help! Well at least the boyfriend and I had a fun day visting my father and his father (it was father's day...) and we went to the parc with lovely Zipp. The dog of my in-laws. She got so tired playing around with my bf, it was fun to see!

New in: Zoe Karssen

As you could read in my last post I visited the Zoe Karssen Sample Sale in Amsterdam last Saturday (here).
These were my buys! Since I have been buys quite alot of items lately (not spending much money though!) I had restricted myself to only buying the items I really wanted. And Thank God for me, all three items were on my wishlist! A simple basic tee, the Monsieur Karssen sweat and the I'm so Rock n' Roll Tee. As you might have noticed these items were on my fashionalista account (here) and on my b-day wishlist (here).

HAPPY BLOG-LAUNCHDAY

Today it is one year ago that I finally made the decision to launch my own blog!
So: happy birthday to my blog! Can't believe time is going so fast!
It stared out with crappy quality photo's and outfits ( I mean, who places outfit pics without wearing the jacket and jewelry, just because she wasn't ready before the shoot... Yep I did that... see that here), and I stopped blogging for like two months when I was studying (next to my FT job) and travelling New Zealand (see here). In January this year my blog got picked up where I left of, but with more dedication. At that time I had some cool collaborations. For some reason the collaborations involved shoes, and more shoes! (see here & here). Next to this I got the opportunity to attend various events, which were such a blast! (See here & here) I met such lovely people, and got interviewed about my blog various times, which I find such an honor, of which one resulted in a feature! (here)
But of all the things that have happened this past year: your comments, likes, hypes, tweets mails are the greatest! They mean so much, thanks guys!!
And while I'm at it I really want to thank: Matthijs, my lovely boyfriend who is my photographer and has to put up with my spending hours behind my laptop every evening after work.
Over the past year a lot of people have helped me with my blog, thanks to all of you for making this happen!

To cut a long story short: Thanks to all of you & keep on visiting my blog!!

Photo from a never published outfit shoot. I was kinda under the weather, so all the pics weren't blog-worthy. I leave you with a detail shot of what I was wearing.
By the way: I seriously bought the Primark Jumper for 5 euro's, could not believe it. I thought 10 euro's (the original price) was a bargain, but on the receipt I saw that it was half price. Not so sure about the quality though, but it's like my dad says about stuff that's made in China: "Quality is coincidence". I guess that this also is the case for Primark.
