Online Tip: Stylight

A few months ago I discoverd Stylight. When I first came across it my reaction was: another fashionsite, seriously? But when I took a closer look I realized it's much better then other fashion sites. It's Lookbook.nu and fashionlista put into one website, but then much better.


On stylight you can create an account (Go to my account Amysfashionscrapbook)
You can follow people you like, what items do they like and get inspired by their looks.



When you post your looks, you can me boards to go with your look. You can put items you are wearing on the board, but also put in a song or a quote. Which makes the boards even more interesting to browse through.

I also love to go “window-shopping” on Stylight. Look through all the items they have listed.

Fashion: For Who I'm Supposed To Be Today

I've found this quote months ago, not knowing what I should do with it. Yesterday I decided to put it up on the blog with a whole monologue about how I never have anything to wear, yet my closet is quite large and literally stacked with clothes. If I do all my washing (or only have one basket full...) I can't put all my clothes away. Talking about first world problems!
Another first world problem is the fact that I don't have anytime to write the post I was planning to write, cause I'm flying to Ibiza tonight. I just really had some much too do the last couple of weeks (make that months!) Have been running round town, gotta slow down.
Packing my suitcase I stumbled on the same problem as stated above... I need to pack all these clothes, cause I'm not sure who I'm supposed to be on my vacation. I mean I haven't had a real summer vacation in nearly 2 years, how does that work, a lazy summer holiday? Well I'm going to find out!

Outfit: Keep Calm and Carry on Shopping

This was my super casual outfit last Sunday when I enjoyed a relaxing day on the town. Wearing my new mirrored sunnies, they are such great  eye catchers. As a little bonus you can see the man behind the blogger: my photographer my sunnies on the 4th photo.

Dit was mijn super casual outfit afgelopen zondag, toen n heerlijke dag in stad doorbracht. Ik droeg mijn nieuwe gespiegelde zonnebril, het is zo'n statement piece. Als een extra bonus zie je in de 4de foto de man achter de blogger, mijn fotograaf in mijn zonnebril.

Fashion: Madness by Alexander Wang

EN// Today I found this video on youtube, it's been there for over a week, so maybe you have already come across it. Well I'm not so sure what I think of this. My first reaction was: wow where was I? I want all that stuff! But then, if you see those people running in: they are like animals! Yes, I still want the stuff, and I do think that if I would have the option of getting T by Alexander Wang items for free that my primitive instincts would have the better of me. 

The second question that popped in my head was: why on earth would Alexander Wang give items away for free and let World War 3 break out in the same process. I'm guessing: wanting to go viral! If mister Wang gave away all these items, but in a correct order everyone would have gotten one item, no real fuss would be created. Making this short movie, having people like me putting it up on their website, creating that "Why didn't I know this?????!!" feeling, makes people wanting a little piece of the collection. At least I do. 

And now the prices of the basic (but oh so perfect fit!) Tee's can go up....and we'll still buy them. Like when he moved the production of those same tee's to another country, and losing all the quality in that same process. Ever tried washing you T by A.Wang shirt more than twice? It looks horrible; but still the fit is so good! 

So I'm guessing Mister Wang accomplished the goals of which I think he had: I really wanted to be there, and to make up for that, I'm now going to shop online for one of his oh-so-perfect, but ridiculously over-prices Tee's....

Outfit: Summer Simple

EN// Finally a new outfit online! I've had a little trouble having a photographer present on the days I had a good outfit... and with the hot hot weather, I really wasn't bothered wearing anything remotely worth shooting. Well enough with the excuses, here is a new super simple outfit that I was wearing today. Scored these jeans in the finale sale at Zara. I wasn't planning on buying another pair of printed jeans (I think I own like 20 pairs allready... not kiddin!) but they fit me perfectly. And they are high wasted, a feature of which I didn't own yet. I have always been hesitant to wearing high wasted jeans, since I thought it wouldn't fit perfectly since I have hips and all.... but it's not! It's like my first pair of jeans that don't crawl down whenever you try to bend over. I'm a fan! Well since I hurt my ankle again... (accident prone??) I have to wear comfy shoes, so my fake vans are perfect! Combined it all with a new linnen tee from zara. Another thing I own in large quantities: back tee's! I think a basic tee is one of the worlds best inventions!

NL// Eindelijk een nieuwe outfit post! Ik heb de afgelopen dagen niet altijd een fotograaf gehad wanneer ik eindelijk een leuke outfit aanhad; want met dat warme weer heb ik niet de moeite genomen om mezelf foto-waardig te kleden. Okay, genoeg gezeurd! Hier de simpele outfit die ik vandaag aanhad. Deze jeans heb ik de final sale van de zara gescoord! Ik was eigenlijk niet van plan om nog een geprinte jeans te kopen, daar ik volgens mij al 20 bedrukte jeans/broeken heb. Maar hij zit gewoon perfect en ik heb nog geen high-wasted jeans in mijn collectie. het even geduurd voor ik een high-wasted jeans wilde proberen daar ik gewoonweg heupen heb en ik altijd dacht dat dat niet samen ging met die hoge taille. Maar dat is helemaal niet zo... het is zelfs ontzetten prettig! Nu hoef ik helemaal geen rekening te houden wanneer ik buk ofzo: broek blijft prima zitten! Daar ik alweer geblesseerd ben (alweer ja....) zijn mijn zeer comfortabele nep-vans de ideale schoenen. Heerlijk gecombineerd met een simpele linnen tee en mijn outfit is af. Nog zoiets waar ik zeer veel exemplaren van heb: basic t-shirts! Ik ben echt van mening dat een basic tee een van s'werelds beste uitvindingen is!

The Work-out: Almost D-day! & Blog Poll

Not so charming huh? Well this was me last year at Rondje Tilburg. Sunday is the next edition, where I'm gonna take 13K on. For the people who follow me on instagram (@amysfashionscrapbook) may have seen my injury. Yes I kind f*cked up my ankle. So yesterday eve I went to this Fysio-guy, and Saturday morning we are going to test my ankle, see if running is going to be a good idea. I'll keep you posted.
On a different note I have started a new blogging adventure! From now on I also blog for Tilburg.com, it's in Dutch, so if any Dutchies are interested, get you ass over HERE and read my first blog.

On a last note: I'm experiencing a little struggle with my blog. I want to blog about my whole life, so fashion, working-out, travels and good food. Are you keen for that? Of would you rather see me sticking to fashion and starting up a new blog for working-out? Leave your opinion in the poll I have created!

Men: The Male Arm Party

And now for something completely new! The men section!
Last week I recieved an e-mail from one of my male readers; asking if I could write posts on male fashion.
I ran it past a few of my other male-readers and they also thougth it was a good idea. So here goes, the first "men" post. I wanted to give the male arm party a podium. Inspiration: Snow Day

 

 

I like snow: when the moment when it falls aout of the sky, and the world looks magical. After that: not so much! Since it's snowing big time in the Netherlands I'm going to try and embrace the snow. So here goes!

 

Are you getting warmer allready? 

Since I have to walk to work in just 2 minutes, even this post isn't helping me at the moment! I have serious dressing issues, wearing my ugly Uggs again today? Or getting wet and freezing feet when wearing other shoes? (not to mention ruin them with all the salt on the roads...)

What do you suggest?
