Fashion: Madness by Alexander Wang

EN// Today I found this video on youtube, it's been there for over a week, so maybe you have already come across it. Well I'm not so sure what I think of this. My first reaction was: wow where was I? I want all that stuff! But then, if you see those people running in: they are like animals! Yes, I still want the stuff, and I do think that if I would have the option of getting T by Alexander Wang items for free that my primitive instincts would have the better of me.

The second question that popped in my head was: why on earth would Alexander Wang give items away for free and let World War 3 break out in the same process. I'm guessing: wanting to go viral! If mister Wang gave away all these items, but in a correct order everyone would have gotten one item, no real fuss would be created. Making this short movie, having people like me putting it up on their website, creating that "Why didn't I know this?????!!" feeling, makes people wanting a little piece of the collection. At least I do.

And now the prices of the basic (but oh so perfect fit!) Tee's can go up....and we'll still buy them. Like when he moved the production of those same tee's to another country, and losing all the quality in that same process. Ever tried washing you T by A.Wang shirt more than twice? It looks horrible; but still the fit is so good!

So I'm guessing Mister Wang accomplished the goals of which I think he had: I really wanted to be there, and to make up for that, I'm now going to shop online for one of his oh-so-perfect, but ridiculously over-prices Tee's....

Diary: Having Fun in April

Time flies when your having fun! Well that sure was the case in April. I know, April is still full on (and I'll be posting heaps of pictures on instagram, so you'll know what I'm upto.) Back to the last few weeks. Wow what a months! I went to my first blogger event, hosted by a CreamPR, it was my birthday, we had sun, and I was running alot.

The USB card we got at CreamPR / Another run done! / I got this fashionology ring from the sweet Cindy from COTTDS. / The men and I went to a concert at 013.

More working-out: Spinning / I worked in our garden. It still looks kinds winter in this pic / The sun has returned / Some new decorations for our house

More running! Finally lapped the 13 km for the first time, in this 3rd week of April. / New pillow, looks like cute little Zipp, the dog of my in-laws. / Mini me! Running around in New Zealand / It was my 29th B-day!

The last week of April I started with a run / On Tuesday the man and I went for a long walk after dinner, love spring in the city! / Look at this sky! We were enjoying our dinner on our rooftop terrace! / Oops, new Nike Running shoes for the man and me!

Event: Bloggersevent #CreamprDIY

As I told you in my last post I traveled to Amsterdam last Tuesday to attend the bloggerevent at CreamPR. Here is my full report on this event.

I arrived in Amsterdam quite early to meet up with fellow blogger Tali from Rock My Heels. But before we had a chance to meet and greet, we were spot by a streetstyle photographer for the AD which is a Dutch news paper.

Afterwards we went grabbed a coffee and made our way to the venue. The bus was packed with bloggers, lots of people I recognized from the internet. Quite weird to all see them in real life.

At the venue I met the lovely Jenny from RocknRoller, she is one of my favorite bloggers (check out her youtube channel by the way!) and lots of other bloggers. CreamPR had organized a great night, with lots of activities. I started of styling an outfit, of which you saw the photo's in my last post.

Next up was creating a necklace at Fashionology. I choose the most lovely eagle-like pendant, with a blue stone in the center. Will show you in an outfit really soon. (Or go to my instagram account, and check the photo's @amysfashionscrapbook).

Next up was Van Haren. We got the opportunity to DIY a pair of heels. Since I'm not such a colourful person I choose to keep it simple.

We got the chance to ask Winde Rienstra questions. She is designer, with beautiful extravagant shoes. They are amazing. My last two stops were Hans Anders and Kiboots. Had lovely a chat with the people there, and checked out the new collections. Some great things are hitting the stores!

At the end of the evening, a pic with Jenny & Tali. I'm looking so tired! Was thinking about not posting it, but I couldn't restrain myself. I had a great night, but I know that next time I'm not gonna go to the office for over 6h before I leave for Amsterdam.
Thanks to CreamPR for organizing a great night and take such good care of us (Food!!).

Outfit: Out of My Comfort Zone

Life starts at the end of your comfort-zone. That sums up this whole outfit, and the making of it.

I attend the Cream PR bloggers event last Tuesday at their Showroom. It was my first PR event, held somewhere in Amsterdam and I didn't know anyone at the start of the evening (I did however recognize a lot of bloggers!). No comfort zone at all.

And the expression is true: I had such a great experience! So yeah: Life starts at the end of your comfort zone. A report about the evening will soon follow, but for now I would like to share these fabulous pics of me wearing a lovely, but very out-of-my-comfort-zone, outfit.

HAPPY BLOG-LAUNCHDAY

Today it is one year ago that I finally made the decision to launch my own blog!
So: happy birthday to my blog! Can't believe time is going so fast!
It stared out with crappy quality photo's and outfits ( I mean, who places outfit pics without wearing the jacket and jewelry, just because she wasn't ready before the shoot... Yep I did that... see that here), and I stopped blogging for like two months when I was studying (next to my FT job) and travelling New Zealand (see here). In January this year my blog got picked up where I left of, but with more dedication. At that time I had some cool collaborations. For some reason the collaborations involved shoes, and more shoes! (see here & here). Next to this I got the opportunity to attend various events, which were such a blast! (See here & here) I met such lovely people, and got interviewed about my blog various times, which I find such an honor, of which one resulted in a feature! (here)
But of all the things that have happened this past year: your comments, likes, hypes, tweets mails are the greatest! They mean so much, thanks guys!!
And while I'm at it I really want to thank: Matthijs, my lovely boyfriend who is my photographer and has to put up with my spending hours behind my laptop every evening after work.
Over the past year a lot of people have helped me with my blog, thanks to all of you for making this happen!

To cut a long story short: Thanks to all of you & keep on visiting my blog!!

Event: Just Add Colour

Mega picture overload!!! Today I attended the Converse Event in Maasmechelen Village where you can buy a pair of All Stars and get them pimped by graffiti artists. (see more here) I had such a lovely time with the friendly staff of the Converse Shop and the artists.
Because I had so many pictures I wanted to show you, I made three collages.
1| The biggest shoe in the world (it's a Euro size 845!) see how small I look next to the shoe!
2| The event: images of the Converse Shop in Maasmechelen Village and the graffiti artists doing their magic!
3| The result of my shoes! I'm adore them. Love the minty colour, and love the joke that the artist made: Amy, on a bad day, you'll still know which shoe'll go on which foot! That is actually quite a good cheat for me, since I rarely know which side is left or right... (seriously!)

Event: Launch John Beerens Magazine

Thursday night John Beerens, a famous hairdresser in the Netherlands, launched his glossy magazine.

It was a fun night with live music, make-overs, cocktails and of course: the launch. Afterwards all the bloggers received a stocked goodiebag.

That night I met the lovely Evelien Oerlemans from the blog fotografille. Her Dutch blog is packed with tips and tricks on photography, a must-read!

Back to the mag: John Beerens Magazine (JBM) is a quarterly publication and is available for free. More info about the mag is on the website of John Beerens.
