Lifestyle: Festival Packing List

EN// As you could read on my facebook page: this weekend is all about packing for the Rock Werchter festival which starts this Thursday. Since I have been going to festivals for quite some time now (the first one was in 2004) I think I have mastered the packinglist by now. I do confess: I'm a luxury festival-camper. I go by car, and take a sh*tload of stuff with me.
While I was typing this list in Dutch for my personal use, I thought it could be handy for you guys if you are attending a festival for the first time. So my packing list is posted down here, in Dutch. You can translate it via Google Translate. Since there we so many English lists around, I thought I might contribute for all the Dutch speaking peeps.

Diary: Best Kept Secret Festival 2013

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

First festival of  my Summer Festival Marathon. I had a blast!
Best Kept Secret festival is very different to all the other festivals, it has less main stream bands, is cozy and intimate, serves good food (like seriously quality food! Which does mean that you need to budget a little more than you usually would) clean toilets (with toilet paper!!), a very clean festival ground, due to deposits on the beercups and staff that was cleaning the fields all day. The location was so idyllic, on the beach at a big lake, surrounded by woods. In the woods was a little Etsy market, and lots of swings and benches made out of wood, tree trunks and branches. The music was diverse en very good! This Indy festival had some great headliners: Damien Rice, Sigur Ros, Artic Monkeys to name a few. Also some hip hop acts and dj's where present. Also the stages (the festival had 3 stages and 1 dj booth area)  were all very different, which meant that the stages and tents suited the performing bands perfectly. Big rock bands on the main stage (Stage one) and acts like little sweet Anges Obel were in the tent, whereas more electronic music was at stage 3, which had a futuristic vibe to it. Some acts could have been programmed differently, and the stage in the tent (Stage two) should have been mad a few meters higher, or should have had videowalls.
But other then that this festival was great, specially for a first time! The music festival market in Europe is quite large, but I think Best Kept Secret is a valuable addition to summer festival calender. And I'm not just saying this because I live just a 20 minute bike-ride away.
Well: on with the marathon!! Next stop: Festival Mundial!

Well let's talk pictures:
Sitting on the festival ground with a beer, wearing gumboots due to the rain / Standing frontrow at NO! / wearing gumboots while my brother was wearing all stars... anyhow: festival footwear! / Me and my friend Marloes on the first festival day!
The man and me going crazy 'cause of all the rain, standing in a bar-tent again, for some shelter / More festival beers / My lovely brother and me. Aren't we cute?

An annual topic on my blog: Music Festivals! I absolutely adore them... I'm serious when I say I wouldn't mind living in a music festival forever! This weekend we kick off festival season with Best Kept Secret festival followed by Festival Mundial, Rock Werchter (my absolute high light!!) and we finish of with Bospop. I have al ready been stocking up on shorts, tee's and tanks. Downside is that the weatherforcasts absolutely suck for this weekend. So I'll be wearing leggings, knits, gumboots and rain poncho's....

Are you attending any festivals during the summer?

Outfit: The Semi-Festival

IMG_0416

IMG_0414 IMG_0425

Last Sunday I went to the first festival of festivalseason. Well, it was a semi-festival, since it was inside and just one (long) evening. It was "here is your future #2" at 013 in my hometown.
This is what I was wearing; just a simple festival outfit. I tend to wear cheap clothes to festivals, so it doesn't matter if you get beer or food on your clothes and you just sit on the floor whenever your tired. Since I had been running 13K the day before my feet were killing me. These fake Vans are seriously the most comfortable shoes I own at the moment. I don't think they will last long, but they are so cheap that everyday that I wear them, is another day longer then I expected them to last.
Well I'm counting the days to the first festival. I'm attending 3 festivals this year; could turn out to be more. But 3 is a nice start. And you? Are you going to any festivals?

I'm wearing:
Top: Primark | Jeans: Zara | Sneakers: Primark | Leather Jacket: Trish Summervill Dragon Tattoo Collection for H&M | BirdSkull Necklace: Fashionology | Rings: H&M | Bracelet: Lott Gioielli

Wishlist: The New Icons

The new Icon collection is now available at H&M, and how I love it!
I'm totally in love with that leather jacket, but since I'm still pretty satisfied with my Dragon Tattoo Leather Jacket (here) and I don't have that kind of money to spend at the moment, I'll just pass. The skirt in the second picture is just perfect, but sold-out unfortunately. Last but not least I would love the black shorts. So I'm going to my local H&M later today, hopefully I'll come back with those shorts. Perfect for festival season!

What's your opinion on the new icons line of H&M?

Happy Friday!

Personal: Pinkpop Recap

A little recap to show you guys the fabulous time I had at Pinkpop last weekend!
I had such a great time, seeing the awesome performers, chilling the grass, drinking beer and to top that all of: seeing The Boss! No, I'm not a hardcore Springsteen fan, but since I have been brought with the music I kinda like Bruce. And come on, when I get old, I hope my husband will look and move so good as he does!
Anyhow: I had a great time! I loved the performance of The Blood Red Shoes, they are definitely my Pinkpop 2012 find! Well festival season has really begun, and now we wait for Rock Werchter....
I'm loving it! :)
Oh, by the way: Yesterday I had my semi-annual appointment with my hairdresser. Check my facebook page to see the result! :)

Outfit: Smells Like Festival Season

Next week I'll be at the Pinkpop festival! Can't wait! (see my festival post here!)
I kicked-off festival season with a food festival in my hometown called: Hap Stap. Well, eating all these fancy foods is a little different to listing to rock music, while dancing in the mud. At least the beer, paper plates, grass and stage's where the same!
So this is what I want to wear to Pinkpop next week.. Not sure what the weather will do...otherwise imagine this outfit with a jumper and a jacket on top. How we all love the Dutch unpredictable weather!

I'm wearing:
Nirvana Top: H&M | Skinny jeans: Zara | Scarf: Cotton On (bought in New Zealand) | Vest: Red Herring |  Sunnies: America Today | My arm party was the feature of yesterday's post: here

Diary: Rock Werchter Festival

I have mentioned in previous posts that I went to the Rock Werchter festival in Belgium last weekend.
4 days of music, beer, camping and lots of fun.
I saw some girls who seemed out of character on the festival: wearing heels, non-practical outfits etc. You sleep in a tent for 4 nights, lie in de grass all day or stand in the big crowd; So comfortable outfits is an absolute must!
Tips:
Wear old (or cheap) items, since it will get dirty, or riped.
Also: Layering; it's really hot in the afternoon, but the concerts end late at night: cardigans, leggings to wear over and under your summer outfit.
Comfortable shoes!
Last but not least: enjoy yourself!

Some pictures of the festival
1| my dirty all stars - festival must-have
2| detail of my outfit of day for 3
3| shoes of me and some friends
4| me, chillin' on the grass - wearing layers!
